                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING CUSHMAN
                   STREET LOCATED SOUTHEAST OF OHIO STREET,
                   BETWEEN STUART STREET AND BACHMAN STREET, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned Cushman Street located southeast of Ohio Street,
         between Stuart Street and Bachman Street, more particularly
         described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made 
a
         part hereof by reference:
                Part of Cushman Street, an unopened right-of-way
                varying in width from 50 feet to 35 feet and
                beginning at the intersection of the southwest line
                of Cushman Street with the northwest line of a 12
                foot wide alleyway (said alleyway being located 144
                feet southeast of, and parallel to, the southeast
                line of Ohio Street),  thence at a right angle
                northeast 50 feet to the northeast line of Cushman
                Street, thence southeast 329.25 feet with the
                northeast line of Cushman Street to the southeast
                corner of lot 1, Corrective Plat, Second Revised
                Plan of Lot 1, Block 67 and Lot 1, Block 87, East
                Chattanooga Middle Section, as shown by plat of
                record in plat book 46, page 141, ROHC, thence at a
                right angle southwest 35 feet to the southwest line
                of Cushman Street, thence northwest 123.25 feet
                with the southwest line of Cushman Street to the
                northwest corner of lot 11, Ford and Reed's
                Subdivision of Block No. 6, Anderson's Addition, as
                shown by plat of record in plat book 6, page 5,
                ROHC, thence southwest 15 feet with the northwest
                line of said lot 11 and the southeast line of
                Benton Avenue (abandoned by City of Chattanooga
                Ordinance No. 9219), thence northwest 206 feet with
                the southwest line of Cushman Street to the
                northwest line of a 12 foot alleyway and the
                northeast corner of lot 8, block 5, Anderson's
                Addition to East Chattanooga, as shown by plat of
                record in plat book 3, page 12, ROHC, the point of
                beginning.  Said part of street separates part of
                lots 1 and 24, block 88, East Chattanooga Middle
                Section, as shown by plat of record in plat book 3,
                page 21, ROHC, and lot 1, said Corrective Plat,
                from lots 10 and 11, and part of lot 9, said Ford
                and Reed's Subdivision, and lot 9, block 5, said
                anderson's Addition.  Tax Map No. 127M-A-12 and 13,
                127M-B-2, and 127M-D-2.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
